Carnival of Luxury in Algarve

Between 25 and 30 April the Arade Pavilion, on the outskirts of the sleepy fishing village of Ferragudo (Lagoa) will be showcasing the world’s premier luxury brands in an unprecedented event loosely affiliated to the internationally famous ‘Millionaire’s Fair’.

Carnival of Luxury AlgarveIt will also be welcoming big spenders from around the globe who are looking to shop for high-end goods in the relative peace and discretion that the Algarve offers.

‘Carnival of Luxury’ is brought to the Algarve by Vida de Luxe, a subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based Al Ark luxury concierge and lifestyle management company which was founded by the Aydelman family.

Inspired by the travelling exhibition launched in Amsterdam a decade ago, the Algarve’s ‘Carnival of Luxury’ “has evolved to more than just a shopping experience – we want it to be a showcase of everything Portugal has to offer, and a bit of a statement really, that Portugal is still open for business and can be up there with the best of other industry” explains entrepreneur Luís da Silva, of Vida de Luxe.

Drawing on contacts facilitated through a sales and marketing agreement with the ‘Millionaire’s Fair’, ‘Carnival of Luxury’ aims to personalise the event by showcasing the finest Portuguese products alongside internationally renowned brands.

And a whole range of things like this to show what Portugal has to offer”, Vida de Luxe’s Adam Twidale told The Portugal News on Wednesday.

Personalities and companies from the USA, France, Israel, Russia, Spain, Germany, Holland and Portugal have already put their names down for the event.
As well as luxury cars, boats, fashion, jewellery, services, real estate, financial services and food and beverages, among other goods, the event will also showcase quality Portuguese products ripe for picking on the international stage.

During the event there will also be daily entertainment, ranging from Ballet to Burlesque, from trapeze artists to gala dinners.
Day one, which falls on the national 25 de Abril holiday, is set to be a private opening reserved for “Super-VIPS”; elite guests, celebrities and dignitaries travelling to the event.
The remaining days are open to the general public, packaged as an “entire day out” featuring VIP treatment.
Monday 29 April will be ‘Business Monday’, “which is a little bit more unique, it is a day to do business, to make a statement and say Portugal really is open for business”, Adam Twidale explains.
On ‘Business Monday’ a percentage of any deals brokered between companies will be donated to charity, as will five percent of the overall profit, to be split between one national and one international charity.
